Our client in Edison is seeking a dynamic and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our fast-paced warehouse team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently operating various types of heavy equipment, including forklifts, cherry pickers and pallet jacks, to load, unload, move, and organize materials within the warehouse. Your expertise in materials handling and warehouse management systems will ensure smooth shipping and receiving operations while maintaining a safe work environment aligned with OSHA standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our warehouse distribution processes and support overall operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate forklifts, clamp trucks, cranes, and other heavy equipment for loading, unloading, stacking, and transporting goods throughout the warehouse.
  • Use RF scanners and warehouse management systems to accurately pick orders and update inventory records.
  • Assist with order picking processes, including <PERSON> picker tasks, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
  • Load and unload shipments efficiently while adhering to safety protocols for heavy lifting and materials handling.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to ensure mechanical integrity and report any maintenance needs.
  • Support shipping & receiving activities by verifying inbound and outbound shipments against documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace by properly storing materials and ensuring compliance with OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in warehouse distribution or similar environments with a strong understanding of warehouse operations.
  • Valid forklift certification with hands-on experience operating forklifts, clamp trucks, crane equipment, and pallet jacks.
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment operation, including OSHA safety regulations related to material handling.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and inventory control procedures.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to the maintenance and troubleshooting of heavy equipment.
  • Prior experience in shipping & receiving processes or construction environments is a plus.
